More information on the weekend
17:00hrs to 20:00hrs Registration – Piramides Hotel
Everyone is required to register at the Piramides Hotel on Friday evening where you will collect your goodie bag, which will include a weekend programme well as a Red Hat (for the Sunday run), T-Shirt, bandanna, commemorative mug, key ring, lanyard etc.
On Friday evening only, you will also have the opportunity to register for the live Bull Run and the Sunday evening meal. Both of these events are optional and the price has not been included in your registration fee.
There will also be a Misinformation Desk in the lobby of the Piramides Hotel (for those incapable soles that seem to turn up at hash events) and a Mijas H3 haberdashery stall, where you will have the opportunity to browse and purchase some fantastic attire as a memento of your visit to the Costa del Sol.
19:30hrs to Late Welcome Party at the Irish Times Pub
The location of the Irish Times Pub will be detailed on the map in the centre pages of the programme that you receive upon registration.
Before you head to the Irish Times Pub, make sure that you have registered and collected your goodie bag. In your goodie bag you will find a Mijas H3 1000th Run commemorative mug – guard this mug with your life and bring it with you to the Irish Times Pub because we have purchased 12 barrels of beer, which is free to anyone with a mug.
Drink for free until the beer runs out and be early so as not to be disappointed! There will also be Spanish Tapas and live music during the evening.
12:00hrs Buses leave for run sites from The Mosque
The Mosque is a few minutes walk from the Piramides Hotel and is detailed in the centre pages of the weekend programme.
There will be five coaches going to five different run sites. There will be a sign in each coach window identifying which run the coach is heading to. You will have no ability to book so if you have a preference as to which run you wish to go on, be there early and take a seat on the correct bus. More details about each run will be featured in the weekend programme.
There will be a circle at each run site and all hashers will then board the buses and head directly to the on on.
17:00hrs On On with food, beer and entertainment
You will head directly to the on on from the run site so we recommended that you bring a change of clothes with you.
The buses will start arriving at the on on at 17:00hrs for some entertainment and beer. A traditional Spanish buffet will be served from 19:00hrs.
After the food has been served there will be some hash acts and other entertainment. If you are desperate to do a turn and have not yet advised anyone of your thespian tendencies, please track down Stiff Fanny’s Dick!, or email him on stiffannysdick@mijash3.com, and we will be able allocate a slot for you to make a fool of yourself.
23:00hrs Fuengirola Feira
The buses will all leave the on on at 23:00hrs to take people to the Fuengirola Feria for even more libation! The Fuengirola Feria is one of the largest events in the Andalucian calendar and should seriously not be missed!
Whilst the buses will be doing a drop off at the Piramides Hotel after the Feria drop, there will be a shuttle bus service running during the night, further details of which can be obtained from the Misinformation desk at the lobby of the Piramides Hotel.
07:00hrs Live Bull Run
Whilst the live Bull Run is a free event and you are able to go under your own steam, we have arranged an organised trip at a cost of €8.00 per head. This event includes drinks, breakfast and commemorative bandanna and if you wish to come along you will need to register Friday evening. There is time to go on the Bull Run and be back in time for the Sunday run so if you go bull running you will not miss out.
Paid up masochists should meet in the lobby of the Piramides Hotel at 07:00hrs where Dogs Bollox will ‘take fools to martyrdom’ via Nigel’s Bar for a light bite and Dutch courage before heading on to the live bull run.
This is a participation event so ensure that you wear running gear and have medical insurance. Please note that running with live bulls is a potentially hazardous sport and the Mijas Hash House Harriers take no responsibility for any injury that may be sustained from participating in such an utterly foolish activity.
It should also be noted that the Mijas Hash House Harriers do not condone cruelty to animals and whilst we do not expect the bulls to experience any hardship we have serious concerns for you lot. Having seen the size of the T-Shirts that most of you have ordered, we feel that it is only fair to point out that hashers are, in the main, beer swilling fat bastards that are built for comfort rather than speed and should not consider running under any circumstances, let alone with a brace of bulls!
13:00hrs Red Hat Run – Fuengirola Castle
All hashers will gather for the Sunday Run at Fuengirola Castle, wearing the red hats that you received at registration. The Castle is a short walk from the Piramides hotel and its location is detailed on the map in the centre pages of this programme.
After the run there will be a large circle where anyone who has made a fool of themselves at some stage over the weekend will be named, shamed and iced!
As usual there will be copious amounts of beer to drink.
16:00hrs Closing Ceremony – Fuengirola Castle
A few sober moments of reflection by Flakey and Dipper to thank you all for making fools of yourselves and patronising the Spanish beer industry with such vigour.
17:00hrs Bikini Beach Party – Barrie’s Bar
This is an optional event, the cost of which has not been included in your registration fee. If you wish to come along to the Bikini Beach Party you will need to have registered and paid your €10 on Friday evening.
Free flow beer and wine will be available as well as well as live entertainment – dress appropriately. The location of Bikini Beach will be detailed on the map on the centre pages of your programme.

England V Australia As you will all no doubt be aware, the rugby
world cup seems to have clashed with our weekend event and when
England will be playing Australia in the quarter final, we will be on our 1000 Second Chance Sunday ………we have spoken to the French organizers but they were less than helpful when we asked them to re-schedule the game - they seemed to have absolutely no comprehension of the importance of our weekend - but that’s the French for you! The Irish have been more helpful however and by the magic of modern technology, the game will be recorded and aired again on Sunday morning at 09:30hrs in O’Hara’s Pub , which issituated opposite the Pirimides Hotel. For this event there is no fee and no maximum capacity but the beer is not gratis so bring some wonga with you. All are welcome – although women and Aussies are not overly encouraged!
