Like all the Saturday runs, this one went from A to B.
We started in the woods at the back of Alhaurin El Grande and proceeded to the summit … a serious ball breaking climb, which at one point required hauling oneself up on chains set into the rocks. We managed however to fit in a Beer Stop part way up and along with the beer, Just say When brought some freshly squeezed orange juice, which went down very well.
The day was clear and sunny and the views from the summit were truly spectacular … undoubtedly one of the best views in the whole of Spain!
Thence it was all down hill, though quite some distance.
The original plan was to have a circle at the quarry, but there were 350 cyclists on the mountain that day and the coach was not allowed to come up, so we were obliged to continue futher down the hill to the bottling plant and hold the circle there.
