Having done the long drive up to the top of the Calahonda urbanisation (boy those apartments go up a hell of a long way) we arrived at the circle. We were greeted to fantasctic views of the sea and the mountains both to the west and the east.
The run set off uphill and then continued up, and up and up. All credit to several hashers who went up a narrow and very steep hill, even though there was no flower on the trail there.
After a long period with no markings we eventually picked up the trail … and were off.
It proved to be a runners trail on wide tracks for much of the way with some downs and some seriously demanding ups! The hares said that it was 5k to the Beer Stop and 5 K for the runners thereafter … a good, long distance then. We arrived in good time at the Beer/Cava stop which was just by a large bar on the main road up through the urbanisation.
The 2nd half was mostly on tarmac, down through the urbanisation, so not very interesting, but we eventually reached the point where we went up (up, up) to come out into the campo to finish the run.
Once we had arrived back, there was an hour and a quarter before we were due at the restraunt, so the Cardinal had a free run to fill in the time. Of note was the attempt to name a young man who was here on his 2nd visit … but no suitable name was found and so that is one for the future.
Despit the apparent long wait, time passed quickly in the circle and it was soon time to leave. The On On was in the “Slow Boat” chinese restraunt and proved to be good value and indeed good qality.
Thus ended another gteat day on the hash!
