Run - 1919 - 30 June Pirates in the Port

Gorgeous sunny day for the Mijas H3 pirates to sail into Benalmadena for a town run through Carihuela and up to Parque Bateria. Dolphins were spotted and Dead End got photos to prove the rum-swigging pirates weren't seeing things. Great work by hares Blanka Wanka and Pussy Galore! Photos of pirate boat and excited hashers running to the ice cream stop follow. On on to next Sunday, when Rick O’Shea, STTI, and their visiting hashers will be sprinkling flour in Calahonda.

What a theme “Pirate in the Port run” straight after Glamp out, every one had their pirate shirt, and the Hares had organised a BOAT!!

Meeting up at “Scoobies” for breakfast at Fuengirola port at 11.00 am was a great start for what turned out to be an amazing day, our boat was departing at 11.30 and a fine butch of Mijas H3 hashers in full Pirate attire bordered the Fuengirola – Benalmadena ferry, even “Eve-Toni” our 6-legged fiends made an effort in their Pirate outfits!! (See hash photos). Once on board and assembled on the bow of the ship, “From Behind” produced the “Rum and Coke” and the part commenced, “Bad Wesel” set about getting the “Jolly Roger” bunting displayed to the safety railings, once at sea and half way to Benalmadena all hell broke loose when “Dolphins” were spotted on the starboard bow!!! All cameras on deck! The Hares had do well to get these buggers to swim passed our boat!! Landing at Benalmadena port the merry butch of Mijas H3 Pirates made their way to the meeting point, and the start of the run. The pack then swelled out to 16 as “Colonic”, “Ginger Minge”, “Master Bates” and his chick “Check back” joined us. Hare number one “Blanka W” then proceeded to explain about the run markings, and what “Pussy-G” was still out on the trail, but we would see her at the “Beer stop”. Hash photo out of the way, it was ON - ON along the paseo towards La Carihuela, the run was heading steadily up wards, and was very well marked, at the numerous checks and splits ”Ginger M” managed to do ALL the falsies, and made it quite easy for us back walkers, even “Colonic” was a FRB on this run!!! All road crossings had a “On x” which was a special marking by “Pussy G” to get us safely across a “Zebra” crossing!! The Hares were really pulling out the stops to make this a special run!! Just over 3 kl into the run came the “Beer stop” outside a Chinese emporium, were “Pussy G” had taken the unsuspecting Chinese owner under her swashbuckling ways, and taken over the poor lady’s fridge with Hash refreshments!! Even a bottle of Cava was purchased to keep “Colonic” quiet!! The Beer stop was prolonged, as the Hares had split the run in Half, it was now the turn of “Blanca W” to set the second half of the run, which was fine for us at it meant more Beer, wine, Cava and Crisp!! The second half of the run took us through a picturesque park, which had a rather large lake in it, apparently “Pussy G” got the Lake mixed up with the “Mediterranean Sea” and the “Lake” when reeccing the run with “Blanka W” strange but true!! The second half was well set and unlike the first half was now ALL downhill and back to the Paseo for our next stop, which was a “Swim-Ice cream-and Toilet stop” absolutely fantastic, “Bad Weasel” and his better half “N-F-F” went for a swim while the rest of us relaxed with an ice cream of their choice, from here it was ON IN, a leisurely stroll back to Benalmadena port, and a Bar for refreshing beer and a “Circle”, on entering to Bar it was difficult to get a table, but within 10 minutes of “Hashing” behaviour, and renditions of some very rude Hash songs we had the Bar to ourselves!!! The circle was governed by “Sir Flakey” as “Stiffanny” had lost her voice, as mentioned various rude “Pirate” hash songs were given full voice for the various Down Downs ceremoniously given out by “Cardinal Colonic”. The Hares were given a full thumbs up for the run, and a stonking 9.8 was recorded, and possible run of the year. The trail was a respectable 6.7 kl in length (Please check out the trail, and photos on the “Wikiloc” app) 16.30 hrs it was back on for the last ferry back to Fuengirola, once on board the Mijas H3 marauders proceeded upstairs, taking over the Aft seats of the boat, once settled the customary bottle of “Rum” came out, coke was added to help it go down! With a gentle sea breeze, the return boat trip went by very fast, maybe it was the Rum!!!.

Back on dry land at Fuengirola port the band of merry Pirates continued their debauchery, carrying On- On- On to “O Sullivan’s” Irish pub for food, and watch the Euros football!! It all got a bit blurry after this point!! Well done Hares for a fantastic day out, and it was unanimously agreed this will be an annual event, and possible another one THIS year!!

On On forever

Sir Flakey.
