Run Number - 1949, “Robbie Burns & “Australia day”
Turning up for this joint Scottish, and Aussie run to celebrate “Rabbie Burns” and Australia Day” was looking very ominous with black
clouds overhead, But the hares “Bruce” Bollox and “Shelia” ITTI would have none of that turning out in appropriate national attire.
With no visitors or virgin’s, the pack of 28 hounds were soon underway, once the rusty stand in GM “Kinder” got us organised, we
were advised by the Hares it was a traditional MH3 run, a single trail, checks false trails, with the odd “CB” thrown in!! all looking good,
and the Hares delivered, the pack set off into what was once perfect hashing terrain but now the building developers where cutting their
way in, and now scared with tarmac roads, the first “CB” came into play, and had all the front running bastards coming back to join all us
slower hounds! Well done, we then got caught out on a long false trail into the now defunct music festival grounds!! Buggers! Back on
trial, and into a wet and slippery river bed, pity “Colonic” was not here, he would have loved it! After a short spell in the riverbed a
“split trail” had us on a small trail off to the left, totally covered in bamboo and dog poo!! Perfect hashing trail! A “BS” in flour was a
welcome sign, and the hares greeted us with Beer, Cava and “Lamingtons” some Aussie cakes, bloody delicious Shelia!
The second half was quite uneventful with a lot of tarmac, we passed the La Noria golf, into the Feria ground, with all the rich pikeys parked
up in their motorhomes, escaping the Northern European winter. “On-in” up the hill, and home, a very good trail, well-marked, and a
mark of 9.5 was awarded for all their effort. The circle was void our normal GM as “SB” was a hare, so “Kinder”
step up and did a very average job, prompted continually by the real GM “SB” and with no RA “Colonic” whom is ill with the “Bubonic
plague”, (Get well soon Amigo) the circle was a little “different” to the norm, luckily “Jerry can” stepped in for the “RA” roll, and gave
out various down downs, the only on that sticks in my memory, was Mr Bradwee,s address to the “Hagis” which for the benefit of us
Sassenachs was changed to “an anode to a Fart” which was very funny, and well recited. Next up, came “Rick o shea” sporting a face that a looked like plastic
surgeon had gone terribly wrong! with a humorous tail of how the Mijas H3 haberdashery funds are “safely hidden” in their home!!
Unfortunately, they don’t have a clue where it is “safely hidden” in their home, as it was “safely hidden” when “STTI” was pissed! More
of this story will be disclosed in future Mijas H3 circles!! “Circle closed” with “Kinder” giving excellent directions to the On On
restaurant, and “SB” advising on a different route!! Yogi decided to go to “Pure Asia” to eat with his friends (table for one”!!).
