My first impression on arrival was … wow! What a lot of people had turned up.
45 in fact … in line with the last month or so of 30+ and 40+ hashers attending …
despite the cool and cloudy weather that we have beeen experiencing for an awful long time now. (You can always rely on an Englishman to talk about the weather!)
This being a town run, the markings were mostly in chalk with just a little flour. The run was well planned with a super wimps, a wimps and a macho … and that was just for the first half.
However there was a problem with the marking on the macho. We arrived at a split trail and could find no further markings. So we abandoned the trail, went down to the paseo and walked along to where we knew the Beer Stop would be, given that we had already seen it on the out trail. As we walked along we picked up the wimps trail … so ultimately we all managed to arrive at the Beer Stop.
On the in trail the whole group walked together and once again, ran out of markings, so we simply took the shortest route back to the circle.
This being the day before Valentines Day the hares had asked us all to wear red or pink. So after the marking of the run the hares presided over the selection of the best dressed hasher and harriet. Masterbates with his red tights and Come Pussy were the eventual winners of this competition and were awarded a large biscuit in the shape of a heart which they had to share.
Two weeks previously Pisterbradwe had dobbed in the his son, Ca Ca Pants for the latter's bithday. The following week Ca Ca Pants returned the favour, dobbing in his Father because it was his birthday coming up.
What a family, no morality at all … dobbing each other in. True blue hashers eh!!!
Thus it was that Pisterbradwe got to “enjoy” the making of the cake on his head.
A departure from the usual tradition on this day was that From Behind, our Assistant RA invited the rest of the family to make the cake, which they all appeared to enjoy enormously!
After many more down downs we eventually left to go to the On On at Frog Hall … the home of Aqau Sex. What a great party this turned out to be!!!
A bottle of wine each and Aquan Sex's fantastic cooking and the excellent camaradarie of the hash. The on on of the Winter without any doubt. One not to be forgotten.
