Score around 9 from memory as not on the help sheet! down down for someone!

On a beautiful autumnal afternoon in the beautiful hinterland of La Cala,

around 40 hardened hashers, returners, visitors and virgins convened for the

much anticipated run 1883 by Hares Yogi and Bad Weasel.

It all started rather well until Yogi the hare took the circle!!!

Remember, remember the fifth of November....you wish! Yogi assuming the

role of a local vicar delivering a sermon tried to explain to the multi

denominational group what Bonfire night and Guy Fawkes is...........So, some

Guy called Fawkes, forgive the pun, decided to blow up members of parliament

because he was pissed off with them. Eventually he was caught, hung, drawn

and quartered into 5 pieces?? Prompted by the eager hashers to hurry up and

shut up, low and behold there was more!

A promise of toffee and traditional Yorkshire Parkin ( a Yorkshire cake

dedicated to Bonfire Night ) at the beer stop. A poor idiot asked, “What's

Parkin?” enabling Yogi to give a detailed description of the recipe and further

delaying the run. I did try too intervene explaining that its what Yorkshire

people do before leaving there car, but to no avail.

Unfortunately his recipe didn't stretch to demonstrating that flour is used to set

the trail and so there was a further delay while flour was fetched for

demonstration of markings for virgins and visitors ...Quel horreur!!

Enthusiasm was dwindling with some losing the will to live and others starting

to wrap Christmas gifts.

The trail started on tarmac until a split trail took us through woods. A check and

split trails managed to keep the pack together for a while until the hilly terrain

kicked in. Up and Up and Down and Down soon thinned the pack out. The

Grand Old Duke of York couldn't have done any better. Great campo with

friendly trails, no stony river beds, barbed wire fences or waterfalls in sight. All

hashers searching for the beer stop.

So far so good. We all made the beer stop or did we? A quick head count and

demands to put your hand up if you are not here showed Mummy's Boys Son

had gone missing. As Mummy's Boy was holding up in a local bar maybe he

decided to join him. In true Hash tradition nobody gave a toss so off we went.

The on in was both a runners and walkers trail. Perfect for all and the missing

were found.

Circle formed and time to mark the run. Well done Bad Weasel with a little help

from Yogi after his recent knee replacement. A demonstration of Yogi taking

the sleeve (a spurious way of trying to drink from a cup with a straight

arm...definitely not easy) Cardinal Colonic absolving the pack of their sins and

the customary nonsense to follow. Sir Flakey announcing that next week's run

is his birthday run which he was subsidising with his ill-gotten profits from

people smuggling from Spain to Blackpool!!!

This should cause a rush of blow up dinghy sales!!!

On the romantic front Pepper Grinder was engaged to Peppercorn however,

when it was pointed out to him that her family no longer own a brewery and

she hasn't got a flat head on which to put his pint on ( no offence gorgeous

Kaisa) he may want to reconsider??

Congratulations lovely couple.xxxxx

Circle closed we ventured off to Pura Asia for an excellent on on. Great food,

great wine, shame about the company.

Sadly, Sir Flakey reneged on a promise to sing “ me no like you Blitish soldier ,

Yankee pay five dollar more” cos the restaurant was too busy. Never known

that to be a problem before! A man most definitely not predisposed to being

embarrassed!

Well done Yogi and Bad Weasel for a great run.
