There was a premonition of what was to come when our hare, Buggered in the Woods, Sent out a pin location for the run. This turned out to be the location of the on on restaurant parking suggestion. RickOShea and Big Brother almost collided with each other amidst the confusion! Eventually we made it to the start location, which was cleverly located under the AP7 viaduct..
The flock was called to fold by our GM, Sandra Bollocks who dutifully informed us of upcoming events and urged us to dig deep into our pockets and pay up! The Hares were then introduced who then explained the various trail markings.
Off we went then, down the hill onto the track and then into a tunnel, led by who else but Just Say When, apparently the sole front runner. We emerged onto the tarmac and meandered through the streets of Benalmadena. We were following a trail of tiny arrows, somewhat resembling sparrow's footprints 👣 . Lily Sauvage grumbled something unprintable about the trail and was quietly reprimanded by Blanka Wanka. Near the town centre STTI and just Annie, decided to liven things up a bit and took us off trail on a detour through the market. Disappointingly the stall advertising mojitos for €5 was not open. Big Brother, never one to miss out on an opportunity, tried to sell off Big Mouth as a sex slave but was backed off by Up Yer Bum and severely admonished. We came to a beautiful plaza with a statue of a little girl, La niña de Benalmadena. After going the whole length of the market, we had to retrace our footsteps to get back on trail. Back to the main street, Bad weasel and Just Annie quickly found the trail, which mysteriously crossed the street at every pedestrian crossing. Confusion then reigned as the trail was totally ignored by the front runners, From Behind, Sandra Bollocks, Jerrycan and Aquasex in their excitement at glimpsing the Stupa, (or is it Stupe?) up ahead.
The beer check was quickly found amidst the hordes of tourists.
Having almost emptied the coolies, we set off on the in trail. There were numerous witchy ways and unfortunately, no way to erase the false ones, confusion set in. A tunnel under the highway led us to a forest of trails going every which way. Google maps to the rescue as we took a parallel path to to the highway. This was the nicest part of the run even if the path, much damaged by Motorcycles, was a bit rough.
A circle was formed and the run debated, eventually scored 8.5. The GM handed out the anniversarios, Just Say When, 500 runs and RickOShea, 75 runs.
Stand in RA, From Behind then took charge charge and punishments dispensed, namely most of the pack for go off trail to the market Rick and Big Bro for getting lost before we even started and the Hares for hoarding the flour instead of marking the trail.
Visitor cum hare, Just Sarah earned herself a hash handle. Her real name is now Pink Mellons. Following the usual instructions, she went down on all fours to be blessed by the RA with the sacred flour. A gasp escaped the pack, as the said mellons attempted to escape their confinement in her hash t-shirt!
We then departed for the On On in The Lilac Tree restaurant in Benalmadena.
We were treated to some great tapas and our first round of drinks was generously sponsored by Buggered in the Woods and Pink Mellons. Well done guys!
