A darn cold day for a run in the campo, but of course that’s nothing for such hardened hashes as turned up on the day. This being Stiffany’s Run it was no surprise to
discover that it was a long one, with no Wimps option. The first “half” itself was a long trek. The general consensus being around 8K. But a beer stoop with loads of goodies, such as
T-cakes filled with cheese (a Yorkshire speciality) along with chorizo and serrano ham and the usual Crisp´s sustained us and set us up for the 2nd “half”.
And boy did we need it! Because the route took along a river bed close to one kilometre long, with flowing water. Many of us initially tried to keep
our feet dry, but in the end it was impossible, so we all ended up with wet feet. Whilst many of the hashers did not enjoy this, it made the run special
and quite memorable. A true Stiffany run! The Cava Stop was there as we emerged from the river. And thence it was on to the “third half” of
the run to get back to the circle. Despite the cold weather the cardinal had brought along the ice. And the circle featured the hares not
only sitting on it, but Stiffany at the same time drinking from the sleeve. Perhaps this was the first time that that had happened. (Or maybe not.)
The On On was at the Indian just along from Para Asia and good enough and made a change from the Asia.
