This was a brilliant day for us, the hashin this virgin location. Well inland from the city of Malaga in a verdant and fertile valley. Very different from Mijas Campo.
The run began going uphill, and uphill and then continued going uphill! However the views were spectacular when we reached the top. We continued with considerably more
downs and ups and eventually reached a long stretch that followed a very narrow footpath. This was a beautiful section of trail … we were running among waist
high flowers with spectacular views, indeed the whole mountain was a blaze of colour … quite the prettiest trail that I had been on in quite a long time.
After around 7K we reached the Beer Stop by going down a very steep section of trail and I think it was here that our Cardinal fell, grazing his arm and legquite badly. Fortunately Blind Dick, a
qualified nurse was with us and he tended to Colonic’s wounds, which I have to say were really quite bad. He subsequently required hospital
treatment, though not overnight. The 2nd “half” was advertised by one of the Hares as being mostly downhill.Well …in short, it wasn’t but a lovely trail nevertheless.
In the Circle Colonic, despite his injuries, and he must have been experiencing some level of shock, nevertheless managed to make us all
laugh as usual and thence it was off to the “Pena Caballista” for a good quality meal with very good service.
