When we last had a hash here in this part of El Higuerón it was campo. Now it is a very large, sprawling urbanisation of modern apartments, much still under construction.
Nevertheless, the hare was able to find every green space the developer had left untouched for this 6km trail.
The markings I would say were light (understatement). The hare broke all records for flour use as she proudly told us she had used under 2 bags! (It was rumoured there was a flour shortage in Bulgaria). Any crisis was averted, however, as she acted as sweep.
The beer stop was an oasis in the shade of palm trees, green lawns and views out over the Med. Not a bad place for a cava!
The hare was keen to tell us that her apartment purchase here had given her a free year’s access to the spa, gym and pool. So to prove it, most of the hounds were marched off for a pose and photo by the pool of El Higuerón Hotel. With an unfortunate mishap over access with her Platinum Card (best not ask too many questions) many were denied entry. So off out into the heat to complete the run.
Back at the circle, we were strong armed by the GM to form the circle immediately on our return as she had to be off for an important meeting.
Down downs were awarded, amongst others, to Bloody Pinocchio, Cat House, Aguasex and one of the virgins. All were told to sit on a large bag of ice, only for it to turn rapidly into a slimy, discoloured liquid within minutes.
Ball games and floating on lilos followed at the apartment block pool, then it was up the hill to the On On at La Bella Sophia.
Special mention should be made of Comes More Often’s idea to reintroduce the “fishhook”. A well underused marking that expertly keeps the hounds together. We need to use it more often.
