This was a very good hash which had clearly taken a lot of time and energy to create. It involved steep descents and ascents and you knew you had done a hash The other problem had been that the course of the route changed withouy suffiecient marking to make this clear.
However the beginning was not so good. The hash picked up a trail that had been laid but then not included on the final route … so we were lost. Queen of Trails was called on the phone and she eventually came and put us on the right track.
Having then got over the rough, barren tracts of land between Alhaurin and Coin, the route
became much more interesting, going along narrow tracks and under low hanging trees.
Eventually the route went down, down and down to the first beer stop.
Thereafter the macho's set off on their own route going towards a cava stop. This section was brilliant! Right down at the bottom of the valley amongst low hanging orange trees
and avocado's … oh and the local farmer whose land we were going over. He was not happy and later when the Bradwee clan tried to come through, he would not let them pass!
So we arrive at the cava stop where the co-hare, Claudia Shaver had been waiting for two hours! What a long run … indeed 13K in total.
So after this it was up, up and up... to eventually arrive back at the circle.
This followed in the usual style, though it was a little unusual in that the The Cardinal was not officiating, he had arrived late to collect the beer for next week's run) and so From Behind had the rare opportunity to run the RA's part of the circle.
The On On was close by at Juan Berrocal and after the wintry cold of the run, it was in a nice, warm room.
