Hash Narrative:

St Patrick's Day

At last ... a clear and bright day of sunshine after three weeks of cloudy weather and rain on the hash. We met in a distant location, just outside the La Mairena urbanisation. It was a surprisingly good turn out after the events of last week.

It was so good to get out into such truly remote campo, where the hand of man had barely touched the landscape. Indeed had not at all apart from a couple of ancient water channels. It was pretty hairy walking along these channels with an incredibly steep drop down to the river. In some sections the drop was vertical! Good hashing terrain!

Despite the total run being around 8 kilomtres, the steep sides of the valleys made it tough going and made it feel longer. The hash became very strung out and settled into three broad groups, the runners, the pack and the slow coaches. Note ...Yogi did the whole run!

A good route took us (the pack), after just over an hour to the beer stop, where the hares treated us to cava, guinness, Irish coffee, and nibbles of cheese, chorizo and gerkins … as well as the usual beer, softies and crisps!

In order to meet the timing for the on on, the circle commenced almost immediately on our return and was necessarily kept short. The run received a creditable score of 9.00.

We then drove in a long convoy to the on on at the Irish Bar on the Camino de Coin opposite St Antonys School to enjoy a good meal.
