Hash Narrative:

I thought it was going to end up a disaster when “JSW” agreed to have “Chicken George” as a co-hare, “Chicken-G” was staying at our house and the night before while I was still slightly inebriated, he asked me to get him a “Back pack” and a “Splogger” out of my garage for the next day’s run, stumbling around in a pitch-black garage I finally found him his requested items!!! Only to see them still by the front door when I awoke the next day! Daft bugger, then I found out he even managed to get a speeding ticket on the old Coin road on the way to the run!! He was doing 85 in a 60-limit road Daft bugger!!! he only got a 50 euro fine as he paid on the spot!! Next as it was an “A” to “B” run they left “JSW” car at the finish, and went back to the start in “Chicken-G”s car, they then set off to lay the trail. Getting to the finish and back to “JSW” car she asked “Chicken-G” for her car keys!!!!! Ooooh I have left them in my car at the start, so they then had to walk all the way back up the road to the start! What a daft Bugger, but Chicken was not alone in claiming the “Daft bugger” award, they then realized that they had not got the ice for the beers!!!! Off goes Chicken-G again to save the day!!! A per of Daft Buggers.

But for a pair of Daft Buggers the run was fantastic, we rendezvoused in a secluded side road off the Barranco Blanco road, obviously one of Out Dogging’s favourite locations? The GM called the proceedings, and in hurried fashion the Hares were brought in to explain todays run, there was VP (view points) which meant we would be on the top of mountains, and there was river crossings and swim location which meant we were going to be in valleys!!! Also the run was “A” to “B” so not back to the start. At the end of the run, we were going to be shuttled back to the start location by “JSW” (If “Chicken-G” leaves her the keys). What could go wrong!!!

Hash photo out of the way the pack headed off to do a few “Loops” around the forest area close to the run start, all going fine with the trail well marked, next came, was what we were all expecting, “On Up” the hares had us clambering up a vertical wall of undergrowth, it was very demanding, and a few grumbles could be heard from the pack, we eventually came out on the top of the mountain, the “Wikiloc” trail recorder showed that we were at 512 m and we had made an elevation gain of 304 m, no wonder I was feeling a little light headed. The pack assembled at the “Beer stop” which had been cunningly left in a black bin bag, Colonic was not feeling himself! (Which was a change) and lamented on his fear of heights, even “From behind” was not going too near the edge of the 200m vertical drop.

With photos taken and everyone feeling a little more lubricated the pack set off back down the trail, it was at this lower level we lost “Rub her turd” whom after searching for the trail gave up and headed back to the cars, missing the best section of the run!! Golden cascade and Coke head eventually found the trail, it was the only one “RHT” had not looked!! it can’t be down there!! But it was, and proved a very treacherous route down, don’t take my word for it, just ask “Messy Farty” whom took approximately 20 somersaults while descending this section, the poor lad was scratched from head to foot! Once at the bottom we were treated to some amazing scenery as we made our way through this gorge, just spectacular, well worth the climb down, once out of the gorge the hares had laid on an “Vodka and Orange juice stop” a lot of Vodka was used to stem the flow of blood coming out of “Messy Farty”.

From here the trail split to a “Machos” and “Wimps” trail, the Machos went down to the famous Barranco Blanco water falls, “Golden Cascade” “Froggy” “From Behind” and myself foolishly took this trail, the climb down was only for the agile and not for the likes of “From behind” or myself, there was a video made of “Froggy” the contortionist ably assisted by “FB” as she negotiates the climb down, well worth viewing!!! Once at the bottom the trail made its way along a boulder riddled waterway, only to come out at a “CB” very disheartening, we could not find the trail, and ended back up on the road, the “Brady family” were on their way down, and had to haul the kids back up the trail!!! We then came across a trail heading back into the river bed? We thought it was the trail coming up that we could not find!! But this was actually the trail and unfortunately, we missed this section of the run as “Chicken -G” could be seen on the road ahead, “On In” to more drinks and beer! The run was over and at this point we were advised to await our turn for a lift back to the start location and our cars!! Well done a fantastic trail and well-marked. Run score: 9.1/10.

The Circle was a short affair, with just a vote and comments on the run and the Hares for next week’s run brought in ------------ Oh no it’s the “Queen of trails” again!!! Luckily not assisted by “Chicken-G”

On On On to The Boma restaurant for a really good quality meal, very enjoyable evening.

On On forever.
