Run no. 1756 – The 2021 American Independence Pool Run

Marks awarded: 9.2/10 That’s an estimate as Flakey forgot to do the marking before handing over to the RA.

Hot hot hot!!!! Amber warning for the weekend in the Malaga area.
This didn’t deter around 30 hardy hashers who probably turned up for the free BBQ promised by Stiff and Flakey rather than the 38 degree run thru the campo.
We all assembled underneath the AP7 motorway flyover which supplied the shade and enough traffic noise to drown out any pearls of wisdom coming from the G.M.
The run was in 3 parts each part ending in a refreshing pool dip
Pool 1, Dippers and Gobbichof. Lashings of Tinto Verano with popcorn whist we watched the virgins getting completely lost following non-existant flour.
Pool 2, Titanics B and B emporium. Drinks were homemade water melon cocktails, deliciously dangerous.
Pool 3, Back to Dippers. We used to have the third pool at Streaky’s but she’s buggered off to Brisbane.
Last part of the run was a hot walk back to the circle for some punishment from colonic the RA.
The highlight of this was a double birthday celebration. From Behind and Kindagarten kop were the recipiants of a lovely trifle, lucky hashers. Don’t miss the photos of this.
The virgins looked extremely bemused about all of these proceedings, we may not be seeing them again!!
Then the piece de resistance of the evening, the campout leftovers and as much booze as you could manage without falling over.
British sausages, Mini-hambers, Stiffs cheesy/loafy speciality a fantastic paella and lots of salady things. Perfect.
Plenty of wine and mojitos and probably lots of dancing. I left before it all got too messy.
Well done hares. Can’t wait for next year.
