RUN REPORT:

Another good turn-out for the Mijas HHH saw 29 runners descend on a favourite trail start point near the Coin stadium of Ciudad Deportiva D. Jose Burgos Quintana. Why they just can’t call it the Coin/Alhaurin Sports Stadium beats me? Funnily enough I have never seen any sport or football being played in what is a very nice stadium. Perhaps Coin or Alhaurin football clubs just missed out on signing up Messi or Ronaldo thus not being able to get enough enthusiasm to provide a team.

Our illustrious GM quickly spotted two Hashers with new shoes and so, remarkably, Just Say When (Queen of the Trails) and a freckle faced newcomer with no name (oh boy, refer to next weeks’ Run Report) had the ceremonial christening from said new shoes with beer.

Hares quickly called into the Circle to explain and lighten our spirits by announcing not one but two beer stops with one being a Cava halt. Bribery to get better Run points seems to be rife in Mijas at the moment.

So 29 intrepid runners set off in the relative shade of the trees. Basically the run turned out to be split into three sections. First section having no real slowing down checks for the front running *astard* resulting in the pack quickly being dispersed and stretched out cumulating back at the start point before veering off onto the second section. This section proved equally shitty as none of the aforementioned front runners BOTHERED to stop to wipe out wrong trails or where trail markings that were wiped out but turned out to be false was not re-marked. This left the middle and end running packs to be even further trailing behind. NOT NICE. Fortunately all marking, false or not, were well laid and the first beer stop, hidden across a road, found. The third section can only be considered as a kiddy run for wimps as it took us parallel to the in-trail road for a whopping 1km to the Cava stop. Imbibed we all set off through the woods for a quick return to the Circle and the usual merriment of Hashers being iced, down downed and generally being totally embarrassed by our Viking stand-in RA, ‘The Arch Deacon From Behind’. Highlight was the mass icing and flour daubing of all the front runners who FAILED to cross out the trail markings.

The GM finalised proceedings with “get a life” down-downs for:

Mrs Braidwee – 15 Runs

Super Pooper – 45 runs

Chicken George – 55 runs

King Canute – 190 runs

Sweet & Low – 505 runs !!

With the Circle closed a fantastic picnic OnOn was enjoyed in said woods that became magical as twilight gave way to darkness and the mobile phone and torches lit up those weary and inebriated faces of Hashers enjoying good company and excellent fare. Many thanks to Dogs Bolloxs’ esposa who provided the OnOn food as I cannot remember your Hash name (sorry)
