The second day of the birthday celebration weekend for Chutney Ferret saw 27 hardy souls assemble near the lakes behind Teba for a recovery run.

There may have been more hashers in attendance but for the fiesta held the night before near the hotel in Campillos. At least one hasher did not make it to the start thanks to the all night music and a bottle of cava but otherwise casualties were light.

The run itself started as they all do with some sense of direction but it did not last. Despite following the marked trail it became evident that things had not gone to plan when the On-In sign was found within a few kilometres of the start and no beers or refreshments had been encountered. Hash shit loomed large!

After some frantic searching and wandering back and forth the revised trail was found and the hash continued.

Unbelievable views across the lakes and scenery that was breathtaking awaited those who managed to climb to the many view points and trails that led around the edge of the basin. The hash may have been rescued after all!

Thankfully a beer stop and and a cava stop helped keep the moral high and eventually through luck and a few electronic gizmos everyone arrived back for the circle.

The circle itself was blessed with a specially written song for Chutney Ferret inspired by the recollection of his birth and I suspect it will not be long before it’s a chart hit.

In honour of his birthday he was given a good lashing which was administered by “cums more often” although moments later they swapped places. It was a memorable sight.

The Brady bunch celebrated their first anniversary of joining the hash although with less police in attendance than their first hash so that was lucky and as usual the hares received the appropriate reward for the run.

The On-On at Nellies Restraunt in Alora was wonderful and the three chocolate dessert was a masterpiece. All in all a great end to the weekend and a huge thank you to Just say when Mistress and Chutney ferret who planned and organised the whole trip.
