Scribes memoirs, It was a blistering Hot day for mid-May, even at the altitude the Hares had taken us to the temperature was still in the high 20 ies!t.

A smaller number than usual turned up, 18 plus two hares, on arrival we were informed that the Hare JSW QOT was out on the trail and lugging all the refreshments for the drink stop, form a circle was called by the new GM “Sandra Bollox”, “Salmonella Rushdie” was called in first for turning up in

beautiful new shoes, even with his rambling that they had just been washed fell on deaf ears and he duly had one shoe christened with a cool beer, deciding not to drink the beer it was ceremoniously poured over his head!

Next in was “Froggy” to explain the run, “ I am only going to tell you this once” in a Froggy accent she exclaimed !!! well that was 5 minutes of my life that I will never get back!

“Ca Ca Pants” then duly took the Hash flash photo so we could check if anyone was missing at the end of the run, He has been taking some fantastic photographs recently! I’m sure he must be secretly taking lessons from someone?

On On called and off the pack set off at a pace that would have embarrassed a flock of tortoises, almost into the quarry, but no a check back and to the right up some stairs, and the start of the long trail up, it was at this point I was left well behind as my poor doggies were suffering from the heat, so a shady water stop was called for and this is where it all went wrong for me. I totally lost the trail and ended up following the super wimps straight to the beer stop, however they were all milling around a tree with a flour circle under it when I caught up, “Rodger the Cabin Boy” had been wandering around and had found a Beer Stop sign so it was decided that we must be at the beer stop, However, a few minutes later a very hot and worried looking “Frenchie” turned up, only to tell us she could not remember exactly were the beer had been hidden, a lot of mumbling in French about black bin bags, in a bush, scratches, and to the left. Half an hour of searching later a phone call to JSW and finally it was “Cabin Boy” that found them, buried deep into the forest, clearly, he has been a boy scout in his past! Beverages found, the super wimps laid into the wonderful homemade sangria, then more homemade sangria, “Frenchie” had even brought a bag of crushed ice along, it was truly wonderful, and all to ourselves as it took forever for the rest of them to turn up, first “Sir Rub Her Turd”, and “King Knut”, then finally the “Braidwees” and “Jerry Can”,

Some confusion as to what the sign “OS” meant that the runners had come across on trail, until the hare and “Salmonella” turned up, who was carrying an enormous Back pack, apparently, the hashers missed the Orange Juice stop, so

it all had to be carried back down the mountain, second time that has happened this month!

The trail back was the same trail I did on the way out, only this time pleasant as it was down hill,

Super area, great views and a lot of effort, well done hares. A fairly quiet circle as our usual riotous RA CCI did not turnup, but we had a great stand in, “Rick O’Shea” did a super job, better add him to the reserve team.

Really nice On On at the Bar El Nino in Mijas pueblo. On On your scribe
