What an amazing day for hash run, the sun was shining and thank goodness the temperature had risen and it had stop feeling as if we were in the North Pole and not Sunny Spain.
Picked up by YB and MS to be chauffeur driven to Estepona, Yogi ask MS to set the google maps with the location, it took MS from La Cala de Mijas until Cabopino to actual write the word Estepona, I have never seen this word spelt so many different ways. I think some spelling classes might come in handy MS.
There was a fantastic turn out for the day even though people had to drive a bloody long way!
When we reached the location, Super Pooper was there to greet us looking very relaxed, he certainly did not look like he had just laid a hash trail... SARS was nowhere to be seen... wonder why.. Well, it turned out that the trail was laid on the Saturday and not that morning, lazy buggers! When SARS did actually decide to join us, it came to light that she had re-run the trail to check the flour and markings were still to be seen. Typical man let the lady do all the work!
At 13.00 when it was time to start, Sr Flakey & Stiffany were no-where to be seen, strange, especially as they had travelled down the day before. Lost, late or could they be hungover... yip the last option was correct. Having been invited to a Polish dinner at SARS and Super Poopers new place, they not only drank all their raspberry and walnut flavored vodka, but they tried their hand at making their very own Spanish orange vodka. Stiffany was as fresh as a daisy, however Sr Flakey was suffering badly.
Circle called and the GM welcomed everyone and introduced our new virgin of the day Marylin. The run started off along the beach with everyone keeping the recommended distance, it was very entertaining listening to all the locals wondering what all these weirdly dressed guiris were doing. One crowd actually asked Volley Bollocks and I had we lost a dog... if Dogsy was there we could have said yes...lol
The first part of the run took us up and over the back of Estepona, markings were done well, however I have never seen so much dog poo, I think we should change the name of Estepona to Pestapona for that side of the town. The Hares had set a few Viewpoints, well I do not know if I should have taken my glasses but there was certainly no view to be seen except some trees.
The beer stop was held in a beautiful park, with cava waiting for us on arrival with nibbles of cheese and salchichon. After some refreshments, the run continued through the out town and at last the run lived up to its name, Art & Flowers. There was some beautiful status and artwork on the side of some of the buildings. As for the flowers, the streets were covered in the most amazing colors, it was stunning. We all got to the center of the old town and there was no flour or arrows to be seen, everyone went in different directions looking until we all gave up and headed for the sea front, knowing this was the direction to head back to the on in.
The circle was short and sweet as we all had to be at the restaurant on time. The hares managed to avoid the sleeve from Colonic and Sandra Bollocks was finally reunited with her trophy and bottle of cava after drunkenly leaving it at Gang Bang and Colonics house after the Christmas party.
Off we all went to the on on, a nice lunch was had by all for a great price of per person, however there was only one word to describe the wine..... AWFUL.
Looking forward to next week’s run with our hares: “Gang Bang and From Behind. Unfortunately, due to new regulations, it will only be the hashers living in the Mijas area. We will miss all of our fellow hashers.
