Report:
On a beautiful sunny day there was a good turn out of 28, despite the hash being in a different area. There were a few returners who haven’t hashed for a while and one virgin. In the circle they were tasked with remembering hash names, as per tradition.
We set off up the hill towards the castle, armed with maps and quiz questions. There were fabulous views of the bullring and harbour below.
Claudia Shaver tried to steal a baby Eva at the View Point.
After a few FTs and being serenaded by an out of tune violinist and knocked over by a few cyclists we started to head down towards the centre of Malaga old town via a park that housed the Mijas HHH mascot.
After missing a few questions we came across the hares enjoying wine and tapas but it wasn’t the beer stop! We headed around the corner to a door that looked like the entrance to a monastery and chalked instructions on the floor told us to ring the bell. Kindergarten Cop was worried that an angry nun would appear at the door. It was the third hare though and behind him was a marble construction and then a big car park - our beer stop!
We waited for about 3 hours for the rest of the ‘runners’ to join us, but sadly they were lost somewhere and already heading to try and find the cava stop instead. Even Blanka Wanka was lost, who lives in the centre of Malaga Old Town.
Our group set off and found some more quiz questions around the old town before heading back uphill to the cava stop in the forest below the Parador.
Eventually the rest of the hashers appeared - they had taken their time with the quiz questions, which was revealed when we found out the winners. Well done Blanka Wanka for getting first prize! Up Ya Bum was slowed down a bit as she was stung by a wasp!
It was time to get back to the circle, but not before 3 of us got totally lost and let down by google apps! We found the steps down to find the circle had almost finished, so I can’t tell you much about it apart from the down down for French Erection, the virgin, the other French lady and I.
It was a great run, with lots of time spent mapping the route and setting the quiz questions and a chance to see lots of new places in Malaga.
Thank you hares!
