Not even the soaring heat could deter 35 hardy hashers from attending the latest run set by JSW and Mummy’s Boy.

The run scored a tremendous 9.7 from the assembled circle that included two visitors from Sweden, Big Brother and Big Mouth and a royal visit from the inimitable Count Von Kunt!

Daniel the virgin was warmly welcomed in true hash style, before the eager runners were unleashed for a truly epic run.

Waterfalls, rivers, caves, you name it we saw it or waded through it. In scenes reminiscent of The African Queen front runners hacked through a river bed to discover the longest check back in history, which as you know is a hashers dream!! but it didn’t end there.

Leaving no stone unturned JSW risked life and limb to carve a route to a new cave which provided a lovely viewpoint and a welcome spot of shade, for those who had remembered to take climbing equipment with them!

Despite the locals attempts to put off the chasing pack by rubbing out the markings most people made it safely to the beer stop. Up Your Bum, was struggling with the heat but she was resuscitated, contrary to hashing advice, with an energy drink not beer, but she pulled through.

Entertainment at the beer stop was provided by the aspiring formula one drivers practicing three point turns in the parking lot cheered on by the onlookers from the hash. I think they really appreciated our support!

The second half of the run took us into the town centre where more beautiful scenery and the cool fountains awaited. The town itself is so picturesque that it’s no surprise the run was marked so highly.

The circle was supervised by Jerry Can who stood in at the last minute as RA and kept everyone in order and as usual the hares were praised for their efforts, Count Von Kunt has assured us that the idea of using disappearing eco friendly flour will be taken back to his kennel for consideration!

Sadly the circle was ended with a mournful rendition of the traditional farewell song as we said goodbye to Pepper Grinder and Over and Done With who are departing for a year long break. They both seemed quite moved by the gesture!

The On On was held at the EntreSierra Restraunt in Istan with some great food provided, the Tuna was particularly beautiful and thanks to Red Hot Chilli Pepper , even the waiters enjoyed the experience (eventually)
